As I was retiring as pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Reidsville in January 2017, I was invited to become a Parish Associate for Pastoral Care here. It is a pleasure to work on the church staff providing care to the people of FPC Greensboro. Before coming to Reidsville, I had retired after 30 years as a Chaplain in the United States Army. My life in the Army was tremendously rewarding. I met many wonderful people and traveled extensively. The Army funded two more graduate degrees in pastoral care and counseling, a year of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), and numerous leadership development opportunities. I was honored and privileged to be assigned to senior chaplain positions providing mentoring and training to the next generation of Army chaplains.
