Being part of a large congregation means you can experience large group energy and choose from many small groups who share your interests and questions.

Sunday Classes

Classes meet at 10 am and are open to all. See this Sunday’s topics.

From May 24 to September 6, classes will meet at 9 am with worship at 10.

Parents of children and youth alternate Bible studies and parenting topics. Meets in Memorial 304. Contact Yolanda Baxter.

This class is on summer break.

Summer of Psalms:  Erin Kesterson Bowers has put together a day-by-day plan so you can read all the Psalms from June 1 through August 31. Pick it up around campus or get it here.

Movement and Mindfulness: A 10-week program for adults of all fitness levels. Meet weekly to walk in green spaces near FPC, practice a brief self-awareness meditation, and explore ways to create a healthier lifestyle using an Integrative Health approach. Led by FPC member Marianne Harris, Tuesdays through June 9 at 9:15 am, Mullin Life Center.

Rev. Dr. Erin Bowers invites you to dive deep into thought-provoking books. She will facilitate three studies, each meeting once a month. Mark your calendars for this opportunity to connect, learn, and grow together!

Low Anthropology: The Unlikely Key to a Gracious View of Others (and Yourself) by David Zahl. Consider the idea that you aren’t the only one with problems, and that, in fact, no one has their act together! This is a liberating view of human nature, sin, and grace, demonstrating why the good news of Christianity is both urgent and appealing. Meets Mondays, June 22, July 13, and August 3 at 4:30 pm in the Garden Room.

Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation by historian Kristin Kobes Du Mezk. The book looks at the evolution of evangelicalism over the past 75 years with a particular interest in the emergence of the idolatries of rugged masculinity and Christian nationalism. Meets Tuesdays, June 23, July 14, and August 4, at 5:30 pm in the Garden Room.

Seeing Jesus: Visionary Encounters from the First Century to the Present by Robert Hudson. Learn about people throughout Christian history, from St. Francis to Julian of Norwich to Sojourner Truth to the person who saw Jesus in a coffee cup. Meets Wednesdays, June 24, July 15, and August 5, at 2 pm in the Garden Room.

Yoga for Healthy Aging
