What does the registration fee include?
The Saturday registration fee includes Saturday night lodging, Saturday lunch and dinner, Sunday breakfast, all keynote addresses, breakout chat groups, and planned optional activities. It also includes a copy of Niki Hardy’s book, God, Can We Chat? The Friday registration fee includes Friday night lodging and two tickets to the artist/speaker reception (see next question).
Is there a Friday night option?
Yes! New this year is an optional Friday night reception featuring our speaker, Niki Hardy, and a talented local artist, Ashley Vanore. You will have a chance to meet Niki and Ashley and hear about the intersection of their faith with their creativity. Men are invited to the reception ($30/single or $50/couple). There is also an option for Friday night lodging, see above.
What is the deadline to register?
November 21 is the last day to register; no refunds will be given after December 19.
Is there an option to attend the retreat, but not spend the night?
We cannot offer the retreat as a day-only option. The overnight experience allows time for relationship building and fellowship in addition to the spiritual nourishment offered during the day! We realize that the time and money for the retreat can be challenging so we have intentionally kept the retreat close by so that getting home or to an activity is possible. We are also offering financial assistance if needed to make retreat attendance possible.
Why an overnight retreat?
More time together will result in more opportunities to grow together in faith, build new relationships, and deepen existing relationships. We will have evening activities to connect with other women over shared interests and new discoveries. This dedicated time together will be just what we all need to unplug from our regular lives and recharge our spiritual lives.
What should I expect?
On Saturday, we will have keynote addresses, music, chat groups, optional activities/free time, lunch and dinner. On Sunday morning, we will enjoy breakfast and a worship service with communion. For those choosing to attend Friday night as well, there will be a reception with the retreat speaker, Niki Hardy, and local artist Ashley Vanore.
Who is the speaker?
Her name is Niki Hardy. Read Tamara Slaughter’s profile of her. You can learn more about Niki on her website and Instagram page (@Niki.Hardy).
Is there free time during the retreat? Will there be things to do?
Yes, and yes! During blocks of free time on Saturday, activities available at Grandover include an art gallery, walking trails, a fitness center, fire pits, an indoor pool, and a spa. Several optional activities are planned for Saturday including yoga, a book discussion, chatting with new Christian Formation pastor Erin Bowers, a hymn sing, flower arranging, mahjong free play, casual gatherings for women of all ages, and evening games. More information is available on the registration form.
How will I get the included book upon registering?
Niki Hardy’s book, God, Can We Chat? is included in the cost of registration. You can pick up the book in the Welcome Center from 10-11 am on the first Sunday of each month beginning in October (10/5, 11/2 and 12/7).
What if I don’t know anyone else registering?
If you are an FPC member, we bet you do! But the retreat isn’t limited to members — you can bring a friend, relative or neighbor. Who would you like to share this experience with? Invite her along! Or come on and make new friends! A roommate can be suggested from the list of other women registering without a roommate.
What if I need special consideration for food, transportation, or room assignment?
There is a place on the registration form where you can indicate if you need transportation, have food allergies, or any special needs.
What happens if I need to cancel my reservation?
Full refunds will be given for cancellation on or before December 19. No refunds will be given after December 19.
