FAQs
Who is the keynote speaker?
Rev. Ellen Crawford True, Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Concord. You can read more about her here.
What should I expect?
Registration starts at 8:30 am sharp on Saturday. The schedule includes a keynote address, music, chat groups, optional afternoon activities & free time, lunch, dinner, and on Sunday worship with communion and checkout.
Is there free time? Will there be things to do?
Yes, and yes! Free time options at Grandover include an art gallery, walking trails, a fitness center, fire pits, an indoor pool, and a spa. More information to come regarding the availability of spa appointments. Stay tuned! Optional activities are planned for Saturday, to include yoga, book discussions, spiritual practices, mahjong introduction, casual gatherings for women of all ages, and evening games. More information will be on the Registration page which goes live October 1.
I am so excited about the retreat! Can I come early?
Yes! There is an option for arriving on Friday night. No programming is planned, and meals are not included for Friday night or Saturday morning. Rooms are $94 per person for a double; $178 per person for a single.
Is there an option to attend the retreat, but not spend the night?
We are not able to offer the retreat as a day-only option. Our meeting space at Grandover is limited so we have to reserve our spaces for women who are committing for both days. We realize that the time and money for the retreat can be challenging so we have been intentional in keeping the retreat close by so that getting home or to an activity is possible, as well as providing money if needed to make retreat attendance possible. The overnight experience allows for a lot of good fellowship in addition to the spiritual nourishment offered during the day!
What is the cost?
The cost is $250 and covers a shared room, Saturday lunch and dinner and Sunday breakfast. A limited number of double rooms are available so sign up early (or plan to share a bed with a friend!). Single occupancy is available, $334. Fees are due at registration. Limited financial assistance is available if this will allow attendance. Contact Donna Chase confidentially for information, email or 336-478-4725).
What if I don’t know anyone else registering?
If you’re an FPC member, we bet you do! But the retreat isn’t limited to members — you can bring a friend, relative or neighbor. Who would you like to share this experience with? Invite her along! Or come on and make new friends! A roommate can be suggested from the list of other women registering without a roommate.
What if I need special consideration for food, transportation, or room assignment?
There is a place on the registration form where you can indicate if you need transportation, have food allergies, or any special needs.
* What happens if I need to cancel my reservation?
Full refunds will be given for cancellation before December 18.
I have a question you didn’t address. Who do I contact?
Nancy (email or 336-314-2694) and Julie (email or 336-580-6117).
