This month please donate supplies for Crayons Matter – 24 count packs of Crayola crayons; 12 count packs of Crayola colored pencils; #2 pencils; and spiral notebooks.
Hot Dish will hold a Hygiene Night for guests on Tuesday, May 6. Please donate these items in the Welcome Center or drop off at Hot Dish on Tuesdays or Thursdays: Bar soap & shower gel, shampoo, deodorant, hand wipes or sanitizer, razors (men and women), razor blades, and shaving cream; and or body lotion, feminine hygiene products (tampons or pads), mouthwash and dental floss (we have toothpaste & toothbrushes, and combs and brushes for men and women).
Each year Bread for the World does an offering of letters from faith communities and those concerned with food insecurity in the U.S. and around the world. The letters are written to members of Congress calling for passage of the Farm Bill, a piece of legislation which supports farmers and crucial funding for hunger programs. Please leave your letters at the church by Sunday, May 25.
Mahjong Mondays in May: Women from the FPC community who are Mahjong enthusiasts are invited to play and socialize May 5 & 19, 9:30-11:30 am in the Garden Room. The Paisley Travelers will head to Danville, Va., on May 1 during Historic Virginia Garden Week. Reserve and pay for your spot by April 23. Self-Guided Meditation Walk in Fisher Park: This short walk is an opportunity to be outdoors and connect with God in His wonderful creation. It will be available from now through Earth Day on April 22. The walk begins at the entrance to Fisher Park off Fisher Park Circle near Elm Street. It includes eight family-friendly stations with scripture and a prayer prompt. Allow yourself 20-30 minutes to commune with God in nature. Online directions will be available through a QR code located at the entrance to the walk.

Our Winter Shelter is closed as of Monday, April 14, to accommodate Greensboro city repairs to sewer lines. Current guests of the shelter have been relocated to Weaver House for the duration of their planned stay.
Thank you to all who have volunteered, provided meals, and have overall extended the hands of Christ to some our city’s most vulnerable citizens.
