Rev. Dr. Jill Duffield
Senior Pastor
Jill Duffield joined FPC in December 2020 as the 12th senior pastor in our history. She most recently served as editor and publisher of the Presbyterian Outlook. A UNCG graduate, she received a master of divinity from Union Seminary in Richmond and a doctorate of ministry from Austin Seminary in Texas. She previously served churches in NC and SC. Jill and husband Grant have three young adult children.

Rev. Matt Bussell
Associate Pastor for Outreach and Mission
Matt Bussell came to FPC Greensboro in June 2023 from a pastorship in First Presbyterian Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Matt’s education includes Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Duke Divinity School, and a PhD from Claremont Graduate University in California. Matt, his wife Rebekah, and their daughter Meier currently reside in Stokesdale.

Rev. Newton Cowan
Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care
Newton grew up at FPC. A graduate of Union Presbyterian Theological Seminary, he has completed the Clinical Pastoral Education Program at Moses Cone Hospital.

Rev. Dr. Doug McLeroy
Parish Associate
Doug served 30 years as a Chaplain in the Army and 15 years as a pastor before (mostly) retiring. He is a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.

Pastoral Care
Maria earned her Master of Divinity at the School of Theology at Claremont and her doctorate at Wesley Theological Seminary. She previously served as CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro.
