Christian Formation for our Children

From a very early age, we know that our children have an understanding of God.

The purpose of Children’s Ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro is to build a foundation of Christian faith and spiritual formation for our youngest disciples that begins a lifetime of knowing, loving, and serving God.

We offer Church School classes on Sundays for preschool and elementary students; Milestone classes for elementary-age children and story times and chapel services for preschoolers. Like the rest of the family, we know that our children are eager to serve others and join in fellowship, which we offer through through Kids Disciple Club.

During the summer we offer Vacation Bible School, lots of summer camps, and Middle School Service Week. To ensure the safety of our children at all times while on our campus, we have adopted a Child Protection Policy.

On Sundays

Nursery care: Infants to preschoolers in Mullin Life Center classrooms 8:30 am to noon.

We also offer quiet nursing space for moms in both service locations (Myers Loyaltry Room behind the Sanctuary and in the back section of Mullin Life Center). These areas offer private nursing stations for moms with rocking chairs and live stream access!

Worship Enrichment: During our 10:45 am worship services, children preschool through grade 2 can leave the service for age-appropriate classes using the Godly Play curriculum. Parents should pick up their children in the Welcome Center following worship.

Worship bags & Rejoice! worship shelf: Worship Shelves are now available for use in both the Sanctuary and Rejoice! Worship services for children to participate during service. The shelf offers multiple activities, coloring books and Children’s Bibles for use. If you can't find a shelf, ask an usher.

Church School: Children's classes meet throughout the church campus:

  • Twos – Mullin Life Center 103
  • Threes through Pre-K  – Mullin Life Center 102
  • Grades K-4 – Third floor of Corl Building
  • 5th and 6th Grades – First floor of Shetler youth rooms

Note that fifth-grade Church School has combined with sixth-grade Church School. This does not apply to Youth Group. Youth Group remains students in grades 6-12.

Stop by one of the trees to pick out your gift, then return it unwrapped by Sunday, Dec. 18.

  • April 6 – May 14 – Book drive for Summer Reading
  • Weekly – monetary offerings for identified needs of Peck Elementary School
